Michele Cecchi jest włoskim kompozytorem i dyrygentem, urodzonym we Florencji w 1966 roku. Studiował kompozycję u Luciana Berio i Bruno Madery. Cecchi był asystentem dyrygenta Claudio Abbado w La Scali w Mediolanie i Filharmonii della Scala. Został mianowany głównym dyrygentem Orkiestry Symfonicznej RAI w Turynie w 2001 roku. Cecchi był zaproszonym dyrygentem Orkiestry Filharmonii Radia France, Orkiestry Symfonicznej NHK, Orkiestry Symfonicznej RAI w Rzymie, Orkiestry Symfonicznej RAI w Neapolu i Orkiestry Szwajcarii Romande. Od 2006 do 2009 roku był muzycznym dyrektorem Opery w Turynie. Michele Cecchi jest autorem wielu dzieł muzycznych, w tym "La scala di seta" (Feltrinelli, 2002) i "Storia della musica" (Einaudi, 2007).
