Mina, beter bekend als Anna Maria Mazzini, is een beroemde Italiaanse zangeres geboren op 25 maart 1940 in Busto Arsizio. Ze is één van de meest populaire artiesten van het naoorlogse Italië. Haar unieke stem en haar gave om verschillende muziekgenres aan te gaan, van pop tot jazz, rock en opera, hebben de geschiedenis van de Italiaanse muziek gemarkeerd. Reeds in de jaren 1960 nam Mina vele hits op die haar een enorme populariteit opleverden, niet alleen in Italië maar ook op internationaal niveau. Tot haar beroemdste nummers behoren "Tintarella di Luna" (1959), "Se telefonando" (1966) en "Amor Mio" (1971). Ze was een echte icon van muziek en mode, bekend om haar emotioneel zingen en avant-gardistische stijl. Al langs haar carrière heeft Mina ook een belangrijke rol gespeeld in de evolutie van de Italiaanse muziekindustrie door te experimenteren met innovatieve studio-technieken. Na de jaren 1970 bleef ze albums opnemen en zelfs al zijn optredens in het openbaar zeldzaam geworden na 1978, blijft ze een erg gerespecteerde en invloedrijke figuur in de muziekwereld. Mina heeft ook veel andere artiesten beïnvloed en geniet nog steeds van een uitstekende reputatie voor de kwaliteit van haar werk en voor haar blijvende invloed op de populaire muziek. Haar albums worden nog steeds beluisterd en gewaardeerd door nieuwe generaties fans.
