Beyond is een Hongkongse rockband opgericht in 1983. De oorspronkelijke bezetting van de groep bestond uit Wong Ka Kui, Wong Ka Keung, Yip Sai Wing en Paul Wong. Beyond is bekend om zijn betrokken nummers met sociale en politieke thema's, zoals sociale rechtvaardigheid en vrijheid. De groep verwierf grote populariteit in Hongkong en Oost-Azië in de jaren tachtig en negentig. Hun bekendste nummer, "Glorious Days" (光輝歲月), is een ode aan Nelson Mandela en zijn strijd tegen apartheid in Zuid-Afrika. De tragische dood van leider en zanger Wong Ka Kui in 1993 na een val tijdens een televisieoptreden in Japan was een keerpunt voor de groep. Na de dood van Wong Ka Kui bleef Beyond muziek produceren en optreden, hoewel hun populariteit en invloed afnamen. Uiteindelijk besloot de groep in 2005 uit elkaar te gaan. Desondanks blijft hun muziek invloedrijk en wordt ze nog steeds beluisterd en gerespecteerd, niet alleen in Hongkong, maar ook onder Chinese gemeenschappen wereldwijd.
