Paul van Dyk, de son vrai nom Matthias Paul, est un DJ, musicien et producteur de musique électronique allemand né le 16 décembre 1971 à Eisenhüttenstadt, en Allemagne. Il est l'un des artistes les plus célèbres de la scène de la trance et de la musique électronique depuis les années 1990. La carrière de Paul van Dyk a commencé dans les clubs de Berlin au début des années 90. Sa notoriété a rapidement augmenté grâce à ses compétences de DJ et à ses productions innovantes. En 1994, il publie son premier album "45 RPM", qui lui permet de se faire un nom sur la scène internationale. Son style musical combine des éléments de trance, de house et de techno, créant un son distinctif qui attire un large public. Son deuxième album, "Seven Ways" (1996), a consolidé sa réputation et l'a propulsé parmi les DJ les plus demandés au monde. Les albums suivants, comme "Out There and Back" (2000) et "Reflections" (2003), ont également connu un grand succès, ce dernier ayant été nommé pour un Grammy. "Reflections" a marqué un tournant avec des morceaux plus mélodiques et expérimentaux. En plus de ses propres productions, Paul van Dyk est renommé pour ses remixes pour des artistes tels que Madonna ou U2. Il est également actif dans l’organisation d’événements musicaux et est reconnu pour ses performances live qui allient musique à des éléments visuels impressionnants. Tout au long de sa carrière, Paul van Dyk a reçu de nombreux prix, notamment le prestigieux DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJ poll où il a été classé numéro 1 en 2005 et 2006. Son engagement envers la scène musicale électronique et sa capacité à rester pertinent au fil des ans démontrent son talent et son dévouement à son art.
