Nick Straker est un chanteur britannique, bassiste et producteur de musique, né le 4 juin 1951 à Londres. Après avoir été bassiste dans plusieurs groupes de rock, Straker a formé le Nick Straker Band en 1977. Le groupe a connu un certain succès avec les singles "A Walk in the Park" et "Straight Ahead", qui ont atteint les classements en Grande-Bretagne et en Europe. En 1980, Straker a sorti son premier album solo, Straight Ahead, qui a été un succès en Europe. Il a ensuite sorti deux autres albums, No Turning Back (1982) et Heart on the Line (1984). Au milieu des années 1980, Straker a quitté la musique pour se concentrer sur sa carrière de producteur de télévision. Il a produit plusieurs émissions de télévision, dont The Bill, EastEnders et Casualty. En 2000, Straker est revenu à la musique avec l'album The Best of Nick Straker, qui a été un succès en Europe. Il a ensuite sorti deux autres albums, The Very Best of Nick Straker (2001) et The Hits (2002). En 2010, Straker a été diagnostiqué avec un cancer du pancréas. Il est décédé le 1er juin 2011 à Londres.
