BIOGRAPHY
Wirefly was a French electronic music duo from Paris, composed of producer Philippe Zdar and DJ Pascal Arbez. They are best known for their hit "Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine", which topped the charts in several countries in 1986.
Zdar and Arbez met in the early 1980s while working as DJs in nightclubs in Paris. They began making music together and released their first single, "Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine", in 1986. The song was a massive success, reaching number one in several countries. Wirefly then released the album The Power of Rhythm, which was also successful.
In the early 1990s, Wirefly's popularity began to decline and the duo disbanded in 1995. Zdar went on to produce records for other artists, including Phoenix, Cassius, and Air. Arbez retired from the music industry and became a businessman.
Wirefly reunited in 2006 for a series of concerts in France. The duo's final performance took place at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival in 2007.
Wirefly's music has been used in several films and television shows, including The Hangover, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Entourage.
Wirefly reunited in 2007, but their music remains popular. In 2016, "Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
