BIOGRAPHY
Willem de Roo (born July 9, 1972) is a Dutch trance music producer and DJ. He is best known for his work with Armin van Buuren on the track "Sunrise" and for his remix of the track "Zocalo" by Tiesto.
De Roo was born in The Hague, Netherlands. He began his DJ career in the early 1990s, playing at various clubs in the Netherlands. In 1996, he began working as a producer and released his first track, "The Quest," on the Dutch label ID&T. Since then, he has released several tracks on various labels, including Armada Music and Black Hole Recordings.
De Roo has collaborated with several notable DJs and producers, including Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, and Markus Schulz. He has also remixed tracks for several artists, including Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond, and Gareth Emery.
De Roo's track "Sunrise" (with Armin van Buuren) was voted "Tune of the Year" by listeners of the Dutch radio station 3FM in 2004. His remix of "Zocalo" by Tiesto was voted "Best Remix" at the International Dance Music Awards in 2006.
De Roo has performed at several major electronic music festivals, including Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, and EDC Las Vegas.
