BIOGRAPHY
Tony De Vit (born October 28, 1963) was an English DJ and producer, and a pioneer of the hard house genre.
De Vit began his career as a mobile DJ in the early 1980s. He played at various London clubs, including Heaven, The Fridge, and The Astoria. In the early 1990s, he began producing his own music. His first release was "Burning Up" on the XL Recordings label.
In 1995, De Vit founded the label Tonka Trax. The label's first release was "Voodoo Ray" by De Vit. The label later released tracks by other artists such as DJ Misjah & DJ Tim and DJ Misjah & DJ Tim X.
De Vit's most successful track was "Burning Up," which reached number one on the UK dance chart in 1996.
De Vit passed away on July 7, 1998 due to a heart attack.
