BIOGRAPHY
The Enlightenment was a musical group originally from the United Kingdom. The band was formed in London in 1988 by lead singer-songwriter David Gedge and guitarist Peter Solowka, who had previously played together in the band The Wedding Present. The Enlightenment's music was a mix of pop and folk, with Solowka's Ukrainian folk influences particularly prominent. The group released three albums between 1989 and 1992, before disbanding in 1993.
