BIOGRAPHY
Simon Bostock is a contemporary classical composer and music producer born in England in 1984. He studied composition with Julian Anderson and Oliver Knussen at the University of Cambridge, and later with Marco Stroppa and Beat Furrer at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.
In 2011, he was named Composer in Residence at the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and in 2013, he became Contemporary Music Project Manager at the Philharmonie de Paris. His works have been performed by renowned ensembles and soloists such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Ensemble Intercontemporain, and Ensemble Modern, among others.
In 2012, Simon Bostock was awarded the Composition Prize by the Prince Pierre de Monaco Foundation for his orchestral work "Invisible Cities". His compositions have also been presented at the ISCM World Music Days in Hungary, Poland, Slovenia, and Spain. In 2016, he won the BBC Proms/Guardian International Composition Competition with his piece "Métamorphoses".
Simon Bostock currently resides and works in Berlin.
