BIOGRAPHY
Sergio Maldonado is an Argentine musician born on March 5, 1970, in Buenos Aires. Born into a family of musicians, he began his career playing piano in Buenos Aires' jazz clubs. In 1992, he studied jazz at the National Institute of Music in Buenos Aires. After graduating, he began teaching piano and jazz at the university. In 1995, he joined the Argentine jazz group "Los Gatos Negros" with whom he recorded two albums and performed numerous tours in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Europe. In 2001, Maldonado founded the "Sergio Maldonado Quintet," a jazz group that has released three albums. In 2003, he joined the Argentine rock group "Los Fabulosos Cadillacs" with whom he recorded five albums and toured in South America, Europe, and Asia. In 2010, he created the "Sergio Maldonado Trio," a jazz group that has released two albums. In 2013, he reformed the "Sergio Maldonado Quintet," which has released three albums. Sergio Maldonado resides and works in Buenos Aires.
