Sean Matthews is a contemporary music artist. Born in 1977 in Montreal, Canada, Matthews studied composition and music writing at McGill University. He won the University of Montreal's Contemporary Music Prize in 2001. He then went on to study at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris. In 2006, he obtained a doctorate in musicology from the University of Paris-Sorbonne. Matthews has taught composition and musical analysis at the University of Montreal. In 2
