Rory Gallagher is an Irish guitarist, singer-songwriter born on March 2, 1948 in Ballyshannon and died on June 14, 1995 in London. He began his professional career in 1966 as a member of the band Taste. After Taste disbanded in 1970, Gallagher embarked on a solo career that lasted until his death in 1995. He recorded a total of 11 studio albums, six live albums, and three compilation albums. Gallagher was known for his energetic and intense style of play, as well as his tendency to improvise passionate blues solos. In 2003, the magazine Rolling Stone ranked him 38th in the 100 best guitarists of all time.
