BIOGRAPHY
Owen O'Sullivan is an eclectic musical artist born in Ireland in 1979. Raised in a family of musicians, he began learning piano at the age of seven. As a teenager, he discovered jazz and started performing in clubs in Dublin. He later studied jazz at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance before turning professional.
Owen O'Sullivan is known for being a virtuoso pianist and brilliant improviser. He has shared the stage with jazz greats such as Chet Baker, Art Blakey, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Coleman Hawkins, Billie Holiday, Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, Lester Young, and Sarah Vaughan. He has also collaborated with musicians from rock, pop, and folk backgrounds such as Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, and Neil Young.
To date, Owen O'Sullivan has released seven solo albums, including "The Gathering" (2001), "The Blue Hour" (2003), "The River" (2005), "The Invisible Man" (2007), "The Dreamer" (2009), and "The Outsider" (2011). His albums have been critically acclaimed and have won numerous awards, including the prestigious Irish Times/ESB Jazz Album of the Year Award.
