Orbital is a British electronic music duo composed of brothers Paul and Phil Hartnoll. Formed in 1989 in Sevenoaks, Kent, the group is known for its major influence in the development of 90's rave and techno music. The name "Orbital" comes from the M25, the London orbital motorway, which played a key role in the British rave scene of the time.
Orbital is recognized for its innovative use of electronic music technologies, including the integration of film and television samples. Their music is characterized by captivating synthesized melodies, complex beats, and an immersive listening experience. One of their most famous titles is "Halcyon + On + On", often cited for its transcendental qualities and enchanting melodic structure.
