Özgür Can is a Turkish musical artist born on March 6, 1966, in Ankara, Turkey. Considered one of the pioneers of modern Turkish music, he was one of the first to popularize this genre in the West. Can began his musical career playing rock and blues in Ankara clubs in the 1980s. In 1991, he released his first solo album, "Gitme," which was a huge success and helped establish him in Turkey. He followed this with several successful albums in Turkey and Europe. Recognized as one of the best Turkish guitarists, he has been compared to Jimi Hendrix. His unique composition style and complex arrangements have been praised. Can is considered one of the most important musicians in the modern Turkish music scene and has been compared to legends like Miles Davis and John Coltrane. In 2010, he was named "Artist of the Year" by the Turkish magazine "Time Out".'
