Özgür Can is a Turkish musical artist born on March 6, 1966, in Ankara, Turkey. Considered one of the pioneers of modern Turkish music, he was one of the first to popularize this genre in the West. Can began his musical career playing rock and blues in Ankara clubs in the 1980s. In 1991, he released his first solo album, "Gitme," which was a huge success and helped establish him in Turkey.
