BIOGRAPHY
Milan Lieskovsky was born in Czechoslovakia in 1965. After studying the violin and piano, he went on to study composition and conducting at the Czechoslovak Academy of Arts. In 1991, he was appointed assistant conductor of the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1992, he became conductor of the Czechoslovak Radio Orchestra. In 1995, he was promoted to principal conductor of the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1998, he took over as chief conductor of the Bratislava Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2001, he was named principal conductor of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2003, he became chief conductor of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra and Czech Television Orchestra. In 2006, he was appointed principal conductor of the National Orchestra of Prague. In 2009, he was named principal conductor of the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra once again. In 2012, he took over as chief conductor of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2014, he became principal conductor of the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
