BIOGRAPHY
Locust is a French electronic music group from Paris, consisting of two members: Laurent Dauphin and Pascal Maillard. The two musicians met in 1993 and immediately began collaborating. In 1995, they released their self-titled first album, which was well received by critics. Their music is mainly influenced by techno and house, but also by dub, hip-hop and jazz. In 2000, they released their second album, "From the Ground Up", which was even better received than the first. They have also released several singles and EPs, and have collaborated with various artists, including DJ Laurent Garnier. In 2010, their third album "The New World" was well received by critics and the public. In 2012, they released a live album, "Live at the Barbican". In 2013, their fourth album "The End of the World" was particularly well received. In 2014, an EP named "The Last Days of the World" was released. In 2016, their fifth album "The Beginning of the End" was praised by critics and the public. A same-named EP was also released in 2017. In 2019, their sixth album "The Beginning of the End" was received even better than the previous ones. In 2020, an EP titled "The Last Days of the World" was released.
