BIOGRAPHY
Leon Beilmann (1870-1956) was a German composer and pianist. Born in Frankfurt-am-Main, he studied at the Hoch Conservatory with Iwan Knorr and Carl Reinecke. He also took lessons with Moritz Moszkowski in Berlin. Beilmann won the Mendelssohn Prize in 1894, and the following year, he became a professor at the Hoch Conservatory. He composed a number of works for piano, including a piano concerto, as well as chamber music and songs.
