BIOGRAPHY
Kenny Hayes is a musician from San Francisco, California, specializing in electronic music and nu-jazz. He began his musical career in the 1980s, playing piano and guitar in jazz clubs in San Francisco. Hayes later studied electronic music at the University of Southern California, obtaining a degree in electronic music in 1988.
Following this, Hayes moved into production and remixing for various artists such as Depeche Mode, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, and Pet Shop Boys. In 1995, he released his first solo album, "The Nu Groove Sessions," which received critical acclaim. He followed this with two more albums, "Nu Groove 2" (1997) and "Nu Groove 3" (2000), before focusing on his career as a DJ and producer.
In 2006, Kenny Hayes released his fourth solo album, "The Nu Jazz Sessions," which was well-received by critics. This was followed by "The Nu Jazz Sessions 2" (2008) and "The Nu Jazz Sessions 3" (2010). He also released two remix albums, "Nu Groove Remixed" (2007) and "Nu Groove Remixed 2" (2009).
Kenny Hayes is also known for his live performances, including at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Glastonbury Festival, and Big Chill Festival. In 2012, he was named DJ of the Year at the DJ Awards.
