BIOGRAPHY
Joren Heelsing is a Dutch composer, musician, and producer. Born into a family of musicians, he began learning piano at the age of seven. At sixteen, he began his studies in composition and electronic music at the Tilburg Music Academy. After graduating, he continued his studies at the University of York in England, where he obtained a master's degree in electroacoustic composition. In 2003, he joined the music production studio Studio Kaleidoscoop, where he worked as a composer and producer.
Heelsing has composed music for numerous films, documentaries, and television series. In 2006, he composed the music for the Dutch film "Dood eind", nominated for two Golden Calves awards. In 2007, he composed the music for the Dutch film "De helaasheid der dingen", awarded two Golden Calves. In 2009, he composed the music for the Dutch film "Winter in Wartime", nominated for two Golden Calves. In 2010, he composed the music for the Dutch film "Tirza", nominated for a Golden Calf. In 2012, he composed the music for the Dutch film "Plan C", nominated for a Golden Calf. In 2014, he composed the music for the Dutch film "Accused", nominated for two Golden Calves. In 2016, he composed the music for the Dutch film "Brimstone", nominated for two Golden Calves.
In addition to his career as a composer, Heelsing is also an accomplished pianist. In 2006, he released his first solo album, titled "Piano Pieces". In 2010, he released his second solo album, titled "Piano Works". In 2012, he released his third solo album, titled "The Piano Album". In 2016, he released his fourth solo album, titled "The Pianist".
