John Ridout is a British composer and musician. Born in London, England, he studied composition and piano at the Royal College of Music. Ridout went on to pursue his career as a conductor and musical director, working with numerous prestigious musical organizations throughout the United Kingdom. His works have been performed at numerous music festivals in Europe and North America. Ridout is also the author of numerous articles and books on music, including a biography of Gustav Mahler.
