BIOGRAPHY
John Aleo is an American composer and musician, born in 1951 in New York and raised in Queens. He studied composition with Mario Davidovsky and Milton Babbitt at Brandeis University, and obtained his doctorate in music at Princeton University. Following his studies, Aleo taught composition at Rutgers University and Columbia University. Since 2006, he has been teaching at Montclair State University. His works have been performed by various contemporary music ensembles such as the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Swiss Romande Radio Orchestra, the Hungarian Radio Television Orchestra, the Polish Radio Television Orchestra, the Slovak Radio Television Orchestra, and the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra. John Aleo has also been invited to give master classes and composition lectures in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
