Jason Cortez is a Franco-American musician born in Paris in 1981. He grew up in France and the United States and studied classical music at the Conservatoire de Paris and the University of California, Berkeley. In 2003, he co-founded the Ensemblecourt, a contemporary music ensemble based in Paris. Cortez is also a member of the Quatuor Diotima, with whom he has performed at various festivals such as the Festival d'Avignon, the Festival de Royaumont, the Festival de Saintes, and the Festival d'Automne à Paris. In 2012, he was named Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture.
