James Rigby is an English musician, born in London, England, and raised in Kent. After studying classical music at the Royal College of Music, he became a member of the England Chamber Orchestra. He subsequently became a soloist with the London Chamber Orchestra and has performed with numerous chamber ensembles and orchestras across Europe. He has also taught music at the University of London. Rigby has been invited to perform with several contemporary music ensembles and has recorded several albums in the genre. He has also composed music for theatre and television. In 2006, the French government named him a knight in the Order of Arts and Letters.
