James McGuire, also known as Jimmy Gnecco, born on October 11, 1988, is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He is best known as the lead vocalist, primary songwriter, and guitarist of the alternative rock band Ours.
Gnecco was born in Bayonne, New Jersey. He began playing the guitar at the age of eleven and formed his first band shortly after. He cites a wide range of influences, including The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Jeff Buckley, and Radiohead.
Gnecco formed Ours in 1992 with bassist Christopher Gnecco and drummer Jimmy Gnecco. The band released their first album, Distorted Lullabies, in 2001. The album was a critical and commercial success, and spawned the hit single "Sometimes."
