Idina Menzel is an American singer, actress, and producer born on May 30, 1971 in New York. She is best known for her role in the musical Rent, for which she won a Tony Award, and for her portrayal of the character Elphaba in the musical Wicked, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. Menzel has also appeared in the films Rent, Enchanted, and Frozen. She has released five solo albums, including her Christmas album, Christmas: A Season of Love, which became a certified platinum Christmas album.
