BIOGRAPHY
Gregory Esayan is a composer and producer of contemporary classical music, born in 1981 in Moscow, Russia. He began his career as a classical pianist before turning to composition. In 2003, he studied composition with Russian composer Leonid Desyatnikov at Moscow State University. After graduating with a degree in composition in 2006, Gregory pursued his career as an independent composer. In 2007, he was named composer in residence at the Moscow Institute of Music. Gregory has created numerous works for piano, orchestra, choir, and chamber ensembles. His works have been performed at numerous music festivals in Russia, Europe, and North America. In 2010, Gregory won the Gnessin Composition Prize for his piano piece "Sonata for Piano No. 2".
