BIOGRAPHY
George Maisuradze is a contemporary classical music composer, born in Georgia in 1966. He studied composition with Yuri Shirinsky at Tbilisi State University in Georgia and with Alexander Tcherepnin at the University of California, Berkeley. His works have been performed at numerous international festivals including the Tanglewood Festival, the Aix-en-Provence Festival, the Salzburg Festival, the Bergen Festival, and the Lucerne Festival. In 2006, he was appointed composer in residence with the San Francisco Symphony. His most well-known works include "The Messenger" for orchestra (2003), "Requiem" for choir and orchestra (2004) and "In Memoriam" for piano and orchestra (2005).
