BIOGRAPHY
Daniel Meyer (born October 13, 1988) is a Swiss-American composer, conductor, and pianist. He serves as musical director of the Erie Philharmonic and the Breckenridge Music Festival, and has previously held positions as assistant conductor of the Colorado Symphony and musical director of the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra. Meyer has conducted orchestras in the United States and Europe, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and London Symphony Orchestra. He has collaborated with some of the world's greatest soloists, including Yo-Yo Ma, Emanuel Ax, Joshua Bell, and Anne-Sophie Mutter. In addition to his work as a conductor, Meyer is an active composer, with his music having been performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, and New York Philharmonic. His opera, The Scarlet Letter, was commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera and premiered at the Lincoln Center Festival in July 2018.
