Curtis Young is an American producer, rapper, and singer born on January 26, 1979, in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of hip-hop producer Dr. Dre and singer and actress Michel'le.
Raised in Compton, Young began his musical career producing tracks for artists such as Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Eminem, and Busta Rhymes. In 2006, he released his debut solo album, "The Prescription," under the name "Hood Surgeon."
In 2010, Young established his own label, "Curty Bird Records." He released his second solo album, "Flight School," in 2011, and a mixtape titled "The Bird Call" in 2012.
In 2013, Young was signed to his father's label, Shady Records. He released his third solo album, "Detox," in 2014.
