Cloudriver is a four-piece band originating from Paris, France. The group was formed in 2008 by guitarist/singer Nicolas Gautier and drummer/singer Benjamin Ravon. They are currently signed with French independent label Believe Recordings. The group's music has been described as a blend of "melodic, atmospheric post-rock sounds, with a touch of shoegaze and math-rock." Their first album, "The Great Escape," was released in October 2009. The album received positive reviews from French music critics and was nominated for the Constantin Prize 2010, recognizing the best French rock album of the year. Cloudriver has extensively toured in France and Europe, performing alongside bands such as Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, This Will Destroy You, and God is an Astronaut.
