BIOGRAPHY
Chukalin is a Russian musical artist. Born in 1980 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, Chukalin began his musical career playing piano in the city's jazz clubs. In 2000, he founded the Chukalin Quintet, with whom he recorded two albums, Live at the Blue Note (2001) and New York Stories (2003). In 2006, Chukalin embarked on a solo career with the eponymous album Chukalin. Since then, he has released two other albums, In the Moment (2008) and Dreams of Flight (2010).
Chukalin is known for his lyrical and melodic piano style. His musical influences include Russian classics, jazz, pop, and Russian folk music. As a solo artist, he has performed at numerous jazz clubs and festivals in Russia, Europe, and the United States. Chukalin currently resides in New York.
