BIOGRAPHY
"Balearic Bill is an English producer and DJ who contributed to the popularization of the balearic genre of music. He was a member of the DJ duo The Orb with Alex Paterson, and subsequently pursued a solo career. He also established the electronic music label Hope Recordings.
Born in London in 1965, Balearic Bill grew up in the city's southern suburbs and began his musical career playing guitar in rock bands. However, he quickly became drawn to electronic music and began frequenting the city's dance clubs.
In 1987, Balearic Bill met Alex Paterson, and the two men soon began working together. They released their first album in 1988, titled The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld. The album was a commercial and critical success, contributing to the popularization of the balearic genre of music.
Balearic Bill and Alex Paterson continued to collaborate until 1996, when they decided to pursue solo careers. Balearic Bill subsequently founded the electronic music label Hope Recordings. He also released several solo albums, including The Lonely Dancer (1998) and Sunshine of Your Love (2000).
In 2010, Balearic Bill was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He underwent surgery to remove the tumor and is currently in remission."
