Ayla was born and raised in the small town of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. She started playing the piano at the age of four and began writing her own songs at the age of eight. After graduating high school, she moved to Halifax to pursue her musical career. In 2009, she released her first album, A New Chapter, which received rave reviews and earned her a Juno Award nomination for Best New Artist. She has since released two more albums, The Promise and The Way We Are, and has extensively toured in Canada, the United States, and Europe. Ayla is a talented singer-songwriter, and her music has been featured on television shows and films such as Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, and The Vampire Diaries.
