Avail is an American punk rock band from Richmond, Virginia, consisting of Tim Barry (vocals, guitar), Joe Banks (guitar), Erik Larson (drums), and Beau Beauvoir (bass). The band has released five studio albums: Avail (1995), One Wrench (1996), Over the James (1998), 4 AM Friday (2000), and Dixie (2002).
The band was formed in 1988 by Tim Barry, Joe Banks, and Erik Larson, all hailing from the outskirts of Richmond. Their first EP, All Ages Show, was released in 1990. In 1991, they released their first album, Satiate, on the local label Plan 9 Records. They then signed with the label Fat Wreck Chords and released the album Avail in 1995. Their third album, One Wrench, was released in 1996, followed by Over the James in 1998. In 2000, they released 4 AM Friday. The band disbanded in 2002 following the release of their sixth album, Dixie. They reunited in 2008 and released a live album in 2009, followed by Kings of Nuthin' in 2010 and Extend A Hand in 2012, both on the label Fat Wreck Chords.
