Astral Legacy is a Franco-Canadian music group formed in 2006 in Montreal. It consists of five musicians: Nicolas Boucher (vocals, guitar), Marc-André Boulanger (guitar), Simon Girard (bass), Francis Gagnon (keyboards) and Sébastien Provencher (drums). Astral Legacy has released two studio albums, "The Chronicles of an Emperor" (2008) and "Of Light and Darkness" (2010), as well as a live album, "Live in Montreal" (2011). The group has also participated in several compilations, including "A Tribute to Dream Theater" (2009) and "A Tribute to Sonata Arctica" (2011). In 2012, Astral Legacy was selected to participate in the European tour "Sons of Metal", alongside bands such as Manowar, Blind Guardian, Sabaton and Hammerfall. The tour was a success, and Astral Legacy played to thousands of fans in several European countries. In 2013, Astral Legacy released its third studio album, "The Journey". The album was well received by critics, and the group toured to promote it throughout Canada and the United States. In 2014, Astral Legacy participated in the festival "ProgPower USA", alongside bands like Dream Theater, Opeth, Devin Townsend and Symphony X. The group also toured Europe with the Italian power metal band Rhapsody of Fire. In 2015, Astral Legacy released its fourth studio album, "Tales of a Melancholy Explorer". The album was well received by critics, and the group toured to promote it throughout Canada, the United States and Europe. In 2016, Astral Legacy participated in the festival "Wacken Open Air", alongside bands like Metallica, Rammstein, Slipknot and Iron Maiden. The group also toured Europe with the American power metal band Iced Earth. In 2017, Astral Legacy released its fifth studio album, "The Chronicles of an Emperor II". The album was well received by critics, and the group toured to promote it throughout Canada, the United States and Europe. In 2018, Astral Legacy participated in the festival "Download" alongside Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Guns N' Roses and Ozzy Osbourne. The group also toured Europe with the American power metal band Kamelot. In 2019, Astral Legacy released its sixth studio album, "The Chronicles of an Emperor III". The album was well received by critics, and the group toured to promote it throughout Canada, the United States and Europe. In 2020, Astral Legacy participated in the festival "Hellfest" alongside bands like Slipknot, Tool, System of a Down and Korn. The group also toured Europe with the American power metal band Powerglove.
