BIOGRAPHY
Andrew Fields is a composer and musician of contemporary classical music. He was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1981. Andrew studied composition with John Adams, Christopher Rouse, and Steven Mackey at Stanford University. He also studied with Brian Ferneyhough, Harrison Birtwistle, and Simon Holt at the University of Birmingham in England. Andrew received the American Composers Orchestra's John Adams Composition Prize in 2006. His works have been performed by renowned contemporary music ensembles, such as the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Bremen Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Swiss Romande Radio Orchestra, the Hungarian Radio and Television Orchestra, the French Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Andrew currently resides in Paris, France.
