Alexey Ryasnyansky is an American-Russian composer, pianist, and music educator. He has composed over 150 works for various ensembles, including orchestras, chamber music ensembles, choirs, pianos, and voices. His music has been performed in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Ryasnyansky has received numerous commissions, including from the National Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the San Francisco Symphony, and the New York Philharmonic. He has been awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship, the Music Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Victor Herbert Prize from ASCAP. Ryasnyansky has taught at the Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, and the University of Southern California. He currently serves as a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles.
