BIOGRAPHY
Alexander Spark is a contemporary classical music artist. He was born in 1981 in Russia, and studied composition and piano at the Moscow Conservatory. In 2001, he studied at Harvard University, and in 2004, he earned his PhD in music from Stanford University. Spark then taught at the University of California, Berkeley, and Stanford University. In 2009, he was appointed as a composition professor at the University of Chicago. Spark is known for his electroacoustic and acousmatic compositions, as well as his works for solo piano and chamber ensembles. His works have been performed worldwide, and he has received numerous awards and accolades.
