BIOGRAPHY
Alexander Byrka is a contemporary classical music composer and producer. Born in Russia in 1986, he immigrated to the United States with his family in 2001. Byrka studied composition with Dmitri Tymoczko at Princeton University and with Richard Danielpour at Curtis Institute of Music. In 2010, he obtained his doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley. Byrka is the author of several orchestral pieces, chamber music, and solos, which have been performed worldwide. His works have been featured at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, and the White House. In 2012, Byrka was named composer-in-residence with the San Francisco Symphony.
