Tom Bailey is a British musician, composer, and producer, born on January 18, 1956, in Halifax, England. He is best known for being the leader of the new wave group Thompson Twins, which was very popular in the 1980s. The group is recognized for hits such as "Hold Me Now," "Doctor! Doctor!," and "Love On Your Side," which combine catchy melodies with a characteristic synth-pop aesthetic of the time.
Tom Bailey began his musical career playing folk-rock before turning to electronic music and pop. Upon the dissolution of the Thompson Twins in the 1990s, Bailey focused on other musical projects and production, contributing to works for various artists.
After a long break from pop music production, Tom Bailey returned to the stage in 2014 to perform Thompson Twins hits, responding to fans' requests and a resurgence of interest in 80s music. In addition to his tours, he continues to explore new musical horizons, including diverse influences ranging from electronic music to more experimental sounds.
