BIOGRAPHY
The Vamps is a British pop music group formed in 2012 in Birmingham. The group consists of Bradley Simpson (lead vocals, guitar), James McVey (guitar), Connor Ball (bass), and Tristan Evans (drums). The group has released two studio albums, Meet the Vamps (2014) and Wake Up (2015), as well as two extended plays, Somebody to You (2014) and Last Night (2015). They have also released several singles, such as "Can We Dance", "Wild Heart", "Last Night", and "Somebody to You".
The group formed in 2012 when Simpson and McVey met at the Starlight Music Academy. They were later joined by Ball and Evans in the same year. The group began posting covers on YouTube, which quickly gained them a solid fanbase. In July 2013, the group signed with Mercury Records. Their first single, "Can We Dance", was released in September 2013 and peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart.
The group's first studio album, Meet the Vamps, was released in April 2014. The album peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart and was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Their second album, Wake Up, was released in November 2015 and peaked at number five on the UK Albums Chart. The group has also released two extended plays, Somebody to You (2014) and Last Night (2015).
To promote their albums, the group has embarked on a worldwide tour and performed at numerous festivals such as Glastonbury Festival, T in the Park, and Reading and Leeds Festivals. In 2015, the group was nominated for two Brit Awards in the categories "British Group of the Year" and "British Album of the Year".
