Maren Morris is an American country and pop singer, songwriter, and musician born on April 10, 1990 in Arlington, Texas. She grew up in Dallas and began her music career at the age of 16 by performing in honky-tonk clubs and bars in the area. Morris later signed a record deal with Columbia Nashville in 2011 and released her debut album, Maren Morris, in 2015. The album was well-received by critics and reached the fourth spot on the Billboard country albums chart. Morris then released her second album, Hero, in 2016. The album topped the Billboard country albums chart and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Morris has also won two Grammy Awards, one for the song "My Church" and the other for the album Hero. In 2019, Morris released her third album, Girl, which reached the top spot on the Billboard country albums chart.
