Gims, formerly known as Maître Gims, is a French singer, rapper, and composer of Congolese origin. Born on May 6, 1986 in Kinshasa, he moves to France with his family at the age of two. Gims becomes known as part of the French rap group Sexion d'Assaut, a collective with which he experiences great success at the beginning of the 2010s.
