French Montana is an American rapper, producer, and entrepreneur, born on November 9, 1984, in Casablanca, Morocco. At the age of 13, he immigrated to the United States with his family and settled in the South Bronx, New York. He started rapping in 2006 and released his first mixtape in 2007. In 2010, he signed a contract with Akon and his label Konvict Muzik and released his first single, "Choppa Choppa Down". French Montana gained mainstream recognition in 2012 with his single "Pop That", featuring Rick Ross, Drake, and Lil Wayne. The following year, he released his first studio album, "Excuse My French". In 2015, he collaborated with The Weeknd on the single "Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey)". French Montana is also the founder of the label Coke Boys Music, launched in 2012.
