BIOGRAPHY
Cassette is a musical project formed in 2005 in South Africa. The group, known for its eclectic blend of rock, pop, and electronica, consists of three members: Jon Savage, who is the primary songwriter and singer of the group, Adam Boyd on drums, and Roger Williams on bass. Together, they released three studio albums: Welcome Back To Earth in 2006, The Best of Cassette in 2008, and Emotion in Motion in 2010. Despite their initial success in South Africa, the group disbanded in 2011.
Since then, Jon Savage has pursued a successful solo career, releasing his first solo album, My Heart Is an Idiot, in 2014. Adam Boyd and Roger Williams have also continued to work in the music industry, with Boyd as a producer and sound engineer, and Williams as a session musician and producer.
Cassette remains an influential force in South African music, with their music still being played on local radio stations. They are also regularly cited as an influence by young South African bands. Even though they are no longer active as a group, Cassette's legacy continues to have an impact and their music continues to inspire.
