Anuel AA is a Puerto Rican rapper and music producer born on November 26, 1992 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He grew up in the neighborhood of Carolina and started his music career in 2013 by releasing mixtapes online. In 2015, he signed a contract with Universal Music Latin Entertainment and released his first studio album, Real Hasta la Muerte, in 2017. The album reached the top spot on Billboard's Latin albums chart and was certified double platinum by the RIAA. In 2018, Anuel AA was sentenced to 30 months in prison for illegal possession of firearms, but was released after only 10 months. Upon his release from prison, he released his second studio album, Emmanuel, which reached the top spot on Billboard's Latin albums chart and was certified platinum by the RIAA. In 2019, he released his third studio album, Real Hasta la Muerte Vol. 2, which also reached the top spot on Billboard's Latin albums chart.
