Thomas Petersen (born January 22, 1967, in Hamburg) is a German composer, music producer, and DJ. He is best known for his work in the field of electronic dance music and as the founder of the record label Kontor Records. Petersen began his career as a DJ in the 1980s. In the 1990s, he began producing his own music and quickly became one of the most successful producers in the German dance music scene. In 1995, he founded Kontor Records, which has become one of the leading dance music labels in Germany. Petersen has produced numerous hits, including "Eye of the Tiger" by DJ Shog, "Sound of My Dreams" by Klubbheads, and "Seven Days and One Week" by BBE. He has also remixed tracks by artists such as Madonna, Britney Spears, and Kylie Minogue. More recently, Petersen has devoted himself to composing music for film and television. He has composed the original scores for the films "The Wave" (2008), "Berlin Calling" (2008), and "Who Am I – No System Is Safe" (2014).
