BIOGRAPHY
The Blizzard is a classical music duo formed in 2006 by pianists Anna Fedorova and Marat Bisengaliev. The duo was created to perform the works of Franz Liszt and Sergei Rachmaninoff, and they quickly gained international recognition for their virtuosity and passion for music.
Fedorova and Bisengaliev were trained at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Royal College of Music in London. They met for the first time in 2003 at a piano competition in Moscow, and immediately began working together.
The duo quickly gained an international reputation for their passionate and virtuosic performances of the works of Franz Liszt and Sergei Rachmaninoff. They have also been invited to perform with numerous symphony orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2010, The Blizzard was named "Duo of the Year" by the British music magazine Gramophone. In 2012, the duo released their first album, entitled "The Liszt Album," which was praised by critics.
Fedorova and Bisengaliev have also recorded two film music albums, "The Godfather Trilogy" (2012) and "The Lord of the Rings" (2013).
In 2014, The Blizzard was named "Artist of the Year" by the British music magazine BBC Music. The duo continues to perform worldwide and record new albums.
